The County of Lambton is an urban-rural area in southwestern Ontario that is home to over 126,000 residents. Position Overview

To get compliance with the Ontario Plumbing and Septic Regulations thereby is protecting the consumer.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Enforce the Ontario Plumbing & Septic Regulations
• Advise other inspectors on plumbing issues
• Review Building drawings
• Issue Plumbing Permits
• Keep accurate records of all inspections (City and County files)
• Provides guidance, instruction and direction to contractors

• Incumbents must keep up-to-date on all relevant legislation, collective bargaining agreements, County Policies and Procedures, etc. ensuring that these are implemented as prescribed
• Incumbents must possess the physical ability to meet the duties and responsibilities of the job description and/or the requirements identified within the position's Physical Demands Analysis

Minimum Formal Education:
• Completion of a 3-year community college diploma and 2 courses (legal, septic)
• Certificate of qualification as Journeyman Plumber
• C.A.S.I. – Certified Plumbing Systems Inspector

• Thorough knowledge of the Ontario Plumbing Code and other associated laws

A valid Ontario driver’s license and use of a vehicle.
