The County of Lambton is an urban-rural area in southwestern Ontario that is home to over 126,000 residents. Position Overview

The primary responsibility of this position is to assist with the roll out of new computers.

Duties and Responsibilities

Computer installs, computer troubleshooting, etc. It is imperative that the student has excellent customer service and interpersonal skills as well as great technical knowledge.

Qualifications

• Must currently be enrolled in a related IT post-secondary program
• Because of the responsibilities of this position, preference will be given to those with:
 Experience with Windows 10 installation and configuring desktop computers
 Experience with connecting computers to a local area network
• A professional and courteous phone manner
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Solid organizational and time management skills
• Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making ability
• Ability to work independently
• A good working knowledge of the Microsoft Windows 10 environment

Summer Student positions with the County of Lambton may be dependent on funding and the funding criteria, which specifies that students must:
• Be between 15 and 30 years of age
• Registered as a full-time student in the previous academic year and returning to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year
• Canadian citizens, permanent residents or have refugee protection status under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
• Legally entitled to work in Canada
• Will not have another full-time job
