The Corporation's seven divisions operate programs and services for the residents of Lambton County such as land ambulance, provincial offences court, three Long-Term Care Homes, 26 library branches, two museums, an art gallery, archives, local roadways, public health services, housing services, social services, building services and planning and development services. To plan, develop, implement and evaluate plans for the Nutrition Promotion Program based on the specific needs of the community and to participate in the development of plans for other mandatory core programs with nutrition components.
Nutrition Promotion Program:• Plan, evaluate, problem-solve and administer relevant programs• Participate in the development of implementation plans for the Nutrition Promotion Program• Develop nutrition education programs and policies relevant to the food and nutrition issues of the community• Teach the nutrition component of selected interdisciplinary health unit programs• Select, develop and evaluate nutrition education resources for inclusions in nutrition promotion programs• Interpret and convey current scientific information regarding food, nutrition, diet and health through mass media channels• Provide consultation to Department staff, external agency staff, and community groups regarding nutrition and conduct presentations, workshops, in–service education and surveysGeneral:• Incumbents must keep up-to-date on all relevant legislation, collective bargaining agreements, County Policies and Procedures, etc. ensuring that these are implemented as prescribed• Incumbents must possess the physical ability to meet the duties and responsibilities of the job description and/or the requirements identified within the position's Physical Demands AnalysisThese describe the general nature and level of work being performed by incumbents in this classification. Minimum Formal Education:• Honours Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university program in Applied Science - Food and Nutrition• Completion of accredited Dietetic Internship Program (1 year)Experience:• One year of experience is requiredA valid Ontario driver’s license and use of a vehicle.
